Providing
education and training to future clinicians is an
important goal at ETS.
For
over 20 years the agency has served as a practicum site
for MSW students at the University of Washington's
School of Social Work. At present, seven members of ETS'
social work staff are experienced practicum
instructors. In addition, Ron
Jackson, MSW, the agency's Executive Director, has
an appointment as an Affiliate Professor at the School
of Social Work.
Acupuncture
training is provided to
student interns from Bastyr University, the Northwest
Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and the
Seattle Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental
Medicine. Several times a year the agency also
hosts addiction treatment training programs for the
National Acupuncture Detoxification Association.
Since
1997, ETS has been a clinical training site for second
year students in the University of Washington School of
Medicine's Physician's Assistant Training Program (MEDEX
NW). Two Physician Assistants on the agency's
staff have served as preceptors in the program.
ETS'
Research Department has provided training in the methods
and practice of behavioral research to doctoral students
at the University of Washington's School of Nursing and
School of Social Work.
